4/27 Fishing Report

Posted by Jeff Gray on

It isn’t often, almost never, that the Bitterroot, Clark Fork and Blackfoot Rivers fish this well at the end of April.  Usually by now we’ve seen a push of water, minimizing the dry fly game and putting a damper on the nymph and streamer program. This year is different. With cool nights and no so warm days we’re hanging onto our snowpack to be released at a later date. When will this happen, who knows, but probably sooner than later. That means you need to get out there now!  The mayfly hatch’s have been unreal lately. March Browns and BWO’s and consistent every afternoon. And the good part you can still fish a Skwala pattern  too. Put up your garden tools and head out to the river before it’s too late. Bring plenty of size 14 parachutes, a few cripples and a couple different BWO patterns and you’ll be all set. We are open everyday at 8am, stop on by and grab some bugs or the latest intel and go hit the river. See ya out there.
