Bitterroot River Update, New Sage Rod Launch

Posted by Jeff Gray on

Today, April 5th, marks the launch of the new Sage R8 fly rod. Stop by the shop today and cast one to feel the difference. A lot of buzz around this rod, come check it out.

Skwala fishing has been in full swing around the valley the past couple weeks. Look around town and on any given day you can spot several rigs towing boats and headed to the river. With all this traffic on the river, make sure to use good river etiquette. Your fellow anglers will thank you. We are in the heart of the hatch. Skwalas are still the main source of protein but be on the look out for March Browns and BWO’s.  Nymphing, Dry Dropper, Dry Fly, Streamers, pretty much all tactics have been effective lately. The dry fly bite has certainly been better in the afternoon and into the evening hours. The bump in water flows have the fish spread out so cover different water types to find which they prefer on any given day. Be safe on the water. We are open 7 days a week at 8am. Stop by and say hello.
